In all fairness, I should say that I actually own a Yamaha YPG225, and I did not purchase it at Musician's Friend, I bought it at Strait Music in Austin Texas.
I'm a bass player by specialty, but always wanted to expand my horizons to keyboards, and I'm SO glad I chose this one! I tried several models at the store and this one was not only a great value, but had all the features I wanted and then some. In addition to grand piano, this keyboard has close to 400 other instruments on it and I'd say that 85% of them sound totally lifelike. Some of the flute settings for example actually have breath sounds and even sputter if you hit the keys too hard (good for doing Jethro Tull numbers)! I especially like the capability of "splitting" the keyboard into two distinct instruments, for example, when playing "Color My World" by Chicago, I can play the piano and flute parts simultaneously (really blows the audience's mind!). Only bummer is that your sustain pedal doesn't work when your keyboard is on split mode.
I know that I haven't even begun to fully explore this keyboard's capabilites and don't know if I ever will - frankly, I'm enjoying the heck out of what I've been able to discover on my own. That's another great feature to this machine, it's very user friendly, plus I like having the headphone jack so that I can practice without bugging my neighbors. I sometimes wish it had 88 keys like a real piano, but hey, that's a "piddly" sacrifice. I've gotten so much out of this keyboard and if it ever goes to "gadget heaven," I would upgrade to another Yamaha model in a heartbeat.
Probably The Best

Today I saw this thing in the store and probably wouldn't have played it, except it was the only one plugged in. I'm glad, because this thing is down right amazing! I trust Yamaha more than myself, and this is a perfect example why.
I wish I had the money to buy it; I'm currently have a Yamaha PSR-E313 Portable Keyboard. This keyboard is also amazing, but I need full sized weighed action keys, said Yamaha does not have that.
This keyboard sounds about as good as my mom's professional quality piano, with the one down side that it doesn't sustain piano notes for as long as I would like. It's also not a full 88 key, which I would like, but with this thing, that's fine. I'm gonna buy once I have the money.
Awesome!

I've had this piano for 3 years now and I love it! I can easily do awesome stuff with this, it doesn't take very much time to learn how to record and start making songs with this. You can't export the songs in MIDI format, but that is not a problem for me, considering I have a line in recorder. But all in all, awesome piano.
Darn Good Keyboard for $$

I haven't played keyboard or piano since I took a few lessons as a kid. I just wanted to get a cheaper keyboard to bang on a bit. I am very pleased with the YPG-235. I can't take my hands off it...which is cutting down on my sleep. Get the piano style sustain pedal and stay away from the X style stands. I bought a Quicklok M-91? stand, and it fits great and feels very sturdy.
Ni Expandable Memory!!

YPG 235 comes with NO expandable memory, no SD card slot, not even USB port for a Flash Drive. Though many website, including Yamaha Tech Support and website mislead buyer saying MIDI files can be accessed from External Flash Drive. This is false. Actually YPG 235 comes with only 373KB of internal memory!! (One of my little inexpensive MP3 player comes with 1GB internal memory!)
YPG235 allows only 5 or so MIDI files to copy! Otherwise, the old prerecorded songs are the only choice!
MIDI files must be copied from the computer only (not from USB Flash Drive). You cannot copy more than 5 MIDI files to play!
This is an overpriced junk! Not many dynamic features. Limited function keys, limited options. I wish some other company would make an economic Keyboard with at least expandable memory option. Casio WK3300, WK3800 comes with SD card option. I bought this only because of my musician friend’s advice.
The LCD is very small. Yamaha should supply a free microscope to read it! AC Adapter is a separate package called ‘Survival Package’! Yamaha is after money, NOT customer satisfaction. Because they have established the bigger name in the market!
