Beyond Perfect For Beginners

I was looking for a good keyboard so I could write my songs without annoying my whole family with a real piano, but rather with valume control. I decided this keyboard when I wasn't even looking for one because it was so cheap.

Not only is it cheap, it also has great sound, nearly 500 voices including the perfect bass sound, drum sound, and next to perfect brass, violin, cello, and piano. You can change octaves from -2 to 2, and transpose from -12 to 12 (giving you the range from nearly two octaves below the piano, to two octaves above).

However, this is only a beginner keyboard only. The keys feel nothing like real piano keys and are much smaller. Also, when you get more into piano, you really learn how much you need 88 full sized weighed action keys.

I would still be using this keyboard on occasion, even if I got the most expensive keyboard in the world though!

I Love This Keyboard

I bought this keyboard because it was pretty cheap and I wanted a keyboard to use with my studio's sequencing software for my songwriting on my computer.

I have had this keyboard board for about 2 months and I just love it. I have sat and played and played for hours. It's been the first place I head for when I come home from work these past couple of months.

I'm using it for my songwriting and I just love spending time on it. I was impressed with it the first time I set it up and played it straight out of the box.

It is an entry level keyboard but you can't beat the value or the sound of this little keyboard.

It is jammed pack with tons of features for a keyboard in this price range. I never had a Yamaha keyboard before, but I love it. I'm planning on getting a full 88 key keyboard from Yamaha as well.

It works extremely well with my Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer software and I'm sure it will work well with all MIDI capable software.

I also purchased the Yamaha UX16 USB MIDI cable to patch the keyboard into my computer.

Be sure to get the survival kit for the AC adapter, headphones and sustain pedal.

I puchased this unit for home use. It is less than one month old, and I have begun to notice a distinct metallic "clink" on the tone from the C above middle C. It is there when played either through the built-in speakers or an external amp. If gets no worse, I'll live with it. Don't want to go through the trouble, Or expense of sending it back.

Great Board for Learners

I bought this 'board for my daughter who is learning to play. As with all Yamaha products, it sounds great, is rugged (kid friendly) and has a lot of features. Even the simple models like this one provides a decent lot of options and opportunity for fun and creativity. I have more expensive synths/workstations, and even I have a lot of fun on it just tinkering around with my daughter. I take this on road trips/vacations too. it's lasted for 2 years now. Great tool for learning, or just having fun with! Highly recommend for kids, or anyone who just wants something to play for fun, practice, or w/e.

Yamaha E313

Great product. I purchased it for my wife who was accustomed to playing on a Baby Grand. She loves it. My only negative is that the power cord was not included. I have no problem paying the extra few bucks for the power cord--I just wish that I would have know that I needed it. That way I would not have to go out and buy 6 "AA" batteries at the last minute. They do not even show the power cord as a "recommended option". That needs to be corrected. When I called to say that I was missing the power cord--I got the impression that everyone who buys this product has the same problem.
