Quality Instrument

I was a professional pianist and teacher and this is an instrument that I would recommend to anyone. If you are looking for a cheap synthesizer that creates all of the sounds for you, then this isn't for you, but if you seriously love music and want a quality keyboard, then buy this one.

Great Light Weighted Keyboard

I'm a professional nationally touring musician and originally picked this up because I wanted something lighter as well as a weighted board with speakers for radio in-studios. This is really not a bad keyboard. I modded it and put in stereo 1/4" outputs and am now using it on stage - I just can't justify lugging around an 80 pound board when I have this one. The piano samples and touch are really pretty good and I have a bunch of friends here in nashville who are picking these up.

I’ve been gigging with a HEAVY Roland XV-88 with its HEAVY case for many years. I love the action and sounds but it's heavy; I dealt with it. Then I hurt my back. Badly. I decided to axe the XV and play an unweighted board. I missed that weighted key action! I visited my local music store and begged, "Show me your lightest, cheapest (but good-quality) weighted-key board". "Oh, that's easy. The P-70. It's right here." I put my hands on it for a second, played thru the onboard sounds, tried picking it up and... WOW THAT'S SO LIGHT! I bought it. For live gigging and practicing, it's great. I MIDI it into my Motif and use it as a controller and it works GREAT! Caution: There's no 1/4" audio out. There are two 1/8” headphone outs, though. My piano students like it, and internal speakers simplify setup. It comes with a music stand & sustain pedal. All in all, a super cool piano. Yes, the keys are loud, and it's a little Spartan... but it’s sub-$500. Well-made. The action’s heavy, but good.

If you are a college student, like myself, and you are just looking for a solid 88 key, digital piano, and not a synthesizer, this is the board for you. I did a lot of research, and went into music stores to test each one, and this one was clearly the one that fit my price range and delivered quality. Pros: It's simple to operate, not too many buttons with useless features for those looking for piano sounds. It's one of the cheapest 88 hammer action keyed boards. Cons: I only have one thing against it, the lower octive does sound a bit "off". But honestly, it's barely noticeable.

Don't Waste Your Money

Cheap plastic. Horrible sandpaper-like finish. Clunky, noisy keys. No 1/4" outs. Low quality sound, with very weak speakers. Don't throw your money away on this cheapo piano like I did. Wish I would have just saved more money and bought a Roland.
