There is very little that I do not like about the new VK-8. It clearly is the best sounding B3 Clone built today - far better than anything Nord or Hammond has come out with. I hate the cheap ply filler vaneered wood. Put solid hardwood or no wood at all. You touch it against something and you have a ding or a scratch. Also, I hate the fact that there is no LED Display to tell me where my patches are. This is 2010 - Roland - you blew that one. When I am on stage, I need to make quick patch changes and I do not want to guess what I have selected and start playing and it is the wrong patch. The keyboard feel/action is perfect and as close to a B3 as you can get. Yes, it could have been perfect. Just fix the minor problems and get rid of the wood - no one cares about that - just a solid cabinet that holds up. A LED screen is a must with a small keypad to name your patches. Get rid of the extra instrument sounds, that is not what this keyboard is all about. It is a B3 Clone and just make it the best and the most usable on stage. I think the only B3 clone that comes close to it is the Hammond XK1 but then it has the worst Fatar Keybaord action on the market even with those waterfall keys. I know that Roland is on this and the next VK Organ will be the Beast!

Having had both - I came back to the VK8. I LOVED the VK7, especially the display, and while the VK8 is difficult to setup, once there it has balls to spare! It is the current best ROCK organ!

This organ is simple fantastic. The organ is a B3 as far as I can tell. It also has a very nice Rhodes with the only thing lacking is the vibrato. I demoed this keyboard yesterday and I am buying it today.
