I bought mv88 couple of weeks back and I love this machine, makin a combo with fantom x6 is a great thing. Color screen, vga card, mouse, these are things which makes this sampler CRAZY. Pads are great, lots of options and efx, I could write all day long but I don't have time because my mv is waitin. MPC is oldschool this is new school. For the money I'd rather buy mv than mpc.

For The Serious Hip Hop Producer
Posted by MC Ave from Sunderland, MA on Feb 13, 2008
I bought the Roland MV-8800 and it is sure a handful. It is very hard to use at first because of all the features. Once you get into it though, it will unlick another world for your music. If you already use an MPC, buy this immediately. If you produce with a computer it will take you a little longer to understand this piece of equipment. You can, however hook up a mouse and moniter to the MV8800 which makes it much, much easier to use. I would recommend this product to anybody who is serious about producing REAL hip hop music. Peace.

WOW! I already have the MV-8000 and I just went out and bought the MV-8800. I really think that it couldn't have gotten better than the 8000, except for the colorless monitor on the console, but it has! Alot more sounds, alot more features, and alot more freedom.....that's unbelievable. I guess I will figure out what to do with the 8000, heck, I guess it won't hurt to have two of them.

I bought this machine a few days ago and don't regret it at all. I've used MPC's (I've had six of them) and also software (Pro Tools, Logic and Live), but this has to be one of the most fast and creative units I've had in my life, period. As has already been noted, MV-NATION is a great place for information and also the official Roland Clan Forum. Excellent sound quality (just listen to some of the 808 kits and you'll know what I'm talking about), VGA and mouse board now included and gets the job done like nothing else I've used.
