Ideal for Bass

I have gotten to use this thing a couple of times, once for a few minutes on a poor quality keyboard. The other time however was when somebody let me use it for about an hour on my bass before a gig.

This amp really filled the room with great bass depth as soon as I plugged in. It was pretty much the ideal sound, and we had to turn it all the way down it was so loud. It is also very portable. I would say this would be the ideal light amp for either keyboard or bass to toe around for rehursals all the time and maybe even some small gigs. I'm kinda on a chrunch for money so I'm going to have to buy something cheeper.

I had the KC 500 for over 10 yrs until it got into a car accident. Loved it and now love this new one. I really try to take care of my stuff and don't like it looking road worn. So I hate when buds as for a loan out.My only complaint is the brass thingys always come off the knobs,75 lbs and the increase in price. The last one paid for itself -hope this new one will too.

good for keyboards, drums, and guitar

I was practicing with my band in the keyboard player's studio and this was the only amp that we had, so the drums, my guitar, and the keyboard were all plugged into this baby. I was suspicious at first, but it sounded really good with my les paul, a yamaha keyboard, and a roland electric drumset. even with three instruments plugged in to one amp. We ended up using this amp for all of us at a few gigs, too.

Over-priced and Over-rated

I needed to replace an older Peavey KB-300 that I had used for several years. I've owned Roland keyboards and had good luck with them, so the Roland KC-550 seemed like a good choice.

The amp has plenty of power, and the 15" woofer handles the bass with ease. I even played bass guitar through this amp and it sounds pretty good.

Initially, I purchased the Roland KC-550 over the Behringer K3000FX because I thought that the quality of the Roland would be better. Both the Roland and Behringer are made in China. The Roland is rated at 180 watts and the Behringer is rated at 300 watts, but they both perform about the same. The highs on the Behringer sound more crisp and clear. Overall, I was disappointed in the Roland KC-550 for the price. The Behringer Ultratone K-3000FX has more features and sounds better for considerably less money! Buy the Behringer.

Great for Electronic Drums

I use this amp for my TD-20 Roland electric kit for live gigs in clubs. It's range is fantastic. It's sound quality if also outstanding. It is very heavy, but I suspect all amps of this quality are heavy. I highly recommend this amp for electronic drummers that want to use their kits in a live situation.
