SuperNATURAL™ ARX Expansion
Fantom-G6 provides ARX slots that accommodate two SuperNATURAL expansion boards. SuperNATURAL is Roland's unique behavior-modeling technology that enables a new level of organic, emotional expression previously unattainable in synthesizers. Applied to traditional-instrument sounds, SuperNATURAL enables the delicate, organic tonal changes and playing nuances of real musical instruments. It's also a powerful tool for electronic and non-traditional sounds, breathing amazing new life and expression into synthesis.
Power Sequencer Onboard
The Fantom-G is the first Roland instrument to feature Roland's newly designed power sequencer. In conjunction with the large-size LCD, this pro-level composition tool provides 128 tracks (including 24 audio tracks) in a fully integrated audio/MIDI graphical environment. A mouse can be also incorporated for computer-like speed and ease. Other convenient features include combo XLR and TRS connector, phantom power for condenser mics, Hi-Z input for guitar and bass, and line input.

Amazing FX
Fantom-G is loaded with a state-of-the-art effects engine, with multi-effects available for each Fantom-G sound/part. In 16-part multi-timbre mode, up to 22 effect routings can be used simultaneously. Create complex setups with 16 insert effects per multitimbral patch group, plus global reverbs and choruses. Mastering effects are provided for polishing songs created with the onboard sequencer.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and it is a keyboard player and studio musicians dream. Not only can the Fantom G6 record 128 tracks of internal sound, it can also record another 16 tracks of external audio source, with built in Phantom Power for your mics.
The Fantom is a great all-in-one solution for any musician. The sounds are brilliant, the recording easy and the final result is a mastering techs worst nightmare(as in so good, you will not have to, or want to go the the studio anymore).
I urge anyone who buys this keyboard to spend the $ on the 1GB of RAM. You will need it if you like to sample alot or record external audio sources. The onboard 32MB's or Ram just isnt enough.
Customer support at Roland is top notch and their employees love the products just as much as the end users do.

I was considering the Fantom G & X. I was leaning towards the X because I use computer based DAW's like Pro Tools and Logic Pro and thought that for the price the G was overkill for me. I'm very glad I decided to go with the Fantom G. The sounds are perfect for my needs and the mouse/trackball input along with the USB drive storage is up to modern standards. Gonna put a Gig stick in it and hope some new expansion boards come out soon. This is a very inspiring machine. Won't give up my Mac for recording and editing, but this thing is a perfect fit in the studio and on stage live. Glad I got the G!!!
