Though the price might say "low end," the E-09's sounds and styles are nothing but first class. Building on the success of Roland's popular E-series arranger keyboards, the E-09 ushers in a brand-new look, feel, and sound for the family. With its new high-quality sound engine, pro-style appearance, and powerful specifications—including a newly designed library of sounds and interactive styles—the E-09 raises the quality standard for entry-level arrangers.

International Appeal

With a global array of interactive musical accompaniments onboard, the E-09 puts a world of colorful and authentic music under your fingertips. Master programmers from around the world have created special Styles for the E-09, spotlighting the Western, Middle Eastern, and Asian cultures.

EZ Operation

As Roland's technology continues to expand and improve, so too does the user-friendliness of its instruments. The E-09 is no exception, as it provides a clearly labeled lineup of large, friendly buttons across its front panel, logically organized into task types. There are one-touch Tone and Style locator buttons to help find the sound and style quickly, plus an array of helpful, dedicated controls to make navigating and playing the instrument a breeze.

Low Profile, Big Sound

The E-09 introduces a new professional-grade industrial design to the E family. Its black metallic finish, coupled with a slim, streamlined chassis design, makes the E-09 eye catching and easy to transport. Despite its slim physique, the E-09 outputs an impressively big sound from its built-in stereo speaker system. To further enhance the sound, the built-in effects processor can add space, depth, and other special effects. There are 47 types of multi-effects to choose from, plus eight varieties of reverbs and choruses.

Effects

A great sound engine is only the beginning. The E-09 allows you to add space, depth, and other special effects to your sounds with its onboard multi-effects processor. There are 47 types of multi-effects to choose from, plus 8 varieties of reverbs and choruses. A powerful bonus: Each sound within a simultaneous-patch group can have its own effects assignment.

Excellent arranger from Roland

My back ground 20 years of music. My equipment Yamaha MO6, Yamaha YPP200, Alesis QS6.1, Korg N364, Roland D20 and Juno 106, Emu Proteus FX and Yamaha TX81Z. I bought the E-09 because I want to have somthing to carry out easy and not expensive. What I can said is the price is low but the quality of construction and the quality of sound is super great. Roland had done it againg. Overall the pianos are good the strings good the organs, sax and of course the distintive Roland Pads. The drum kits are very useful and the styles are very good too. If you want Roland traditional sound and quality this is your tickect. If you are looking for this plus want to have worksation capabilitis to create your music I will recommend to go with the Roland GW-7 it is basically the same but you have more storage capacity than the E-09 (can save only one song) plus the USB port.

Better keyboard than arranger

If you don't have the Roland basic soundset in your keyboard arsernal, this is a cheap way to do it. If you are looking for a keyboard with arranger features and on the fly sound adjustments, look elsewhere. PRO's: great 61 note keybed, best I have felt. great PIANO sounds, but you can still use more. CON's: Can't use layers and splits at same time. If you change the sound during a layer/or split, you have to change from a default sound, to your desired sound which is impossible to do in a "live" setting. No number pads to quickly pull up sounds. Only one "fill" and it auto takes you from "A" to "B"(regular to variation). User patches/sounds effects don't transfer from the sounds you copy...(no rotary organ simulation with the copy of the organ patch) The same Roland sound set from 10 years ago. The MIDI implementation is cripple, meaning, you can's slave and 88 weight keyboard to the Roland E-09 with losing effects, no layering or splitting (only accepted channel 4 for me and I couldn't figure out how to change the patch on the MIDI 4 from within the keyboard-maybe it is within the dong mode) In Song Mode, you can only record/load one song at a time with NO LOOP FEATURES.

This keyboard is not bad, especially considering the price point, but you would be better off getting the Yamaha PSR-S500. Then, you would only lose the great keybed(IMHO) and 32 notes of polyphony(Roland E-09 has 64). They are both in the same price range and the Yamaha PSR-S500 have plenty of great sounds, including good piano sounds and you would have a "true" arranger keyboard.

Great Voices!!!

I bought this keyboard because I needed something a little easier to move around than the Yamaha P-250 I use at home. The sound of the P-250 is superior to the E-09 but the E-09 is 1/4 the cost of the P-250 and I think it makes the E-09 a bargain. As usual with Roland, the quality is there. You can feel it in the buttons and knobs and hear it in the quiet operation of the unit and the incredible voices. Keep in mind that this is a pretty low price point for an Interactive Arranger. The piano is full bodied and rich with texture. The blow sax is very sexy. The guitars have given me hours of fun. Operation is pretty straightforward and the manual is easy to understand. This is an awful lot of keyboard for the dollar.

Hear it goes. I've never played key boards before but right out of the box, being adrummer and guitar player I was able to get music out of this instrument. I got familure with what it could do, and it can do a lot, I laid down a drum, bass and guitar track and added some mariachi horns from the Roland and I'm telling you it made the track come alive. It'stotally inspirering as far as writing new tunes both the sounds and the drums. I know its going to work for me in many ways. Thanks Roland, you done good with this one, espeacially for the beginner.

This is a great keyboard for pros and novice. If you are seasoned, then you will have everything that you need to jam, compose, and record. A novice will have a great time with this board. It is so easy to play. This keyboard will help you learn new licks, help you compose, arrange and record your tunes and it's a beauty to look at. This is the easier keyboard I have ever played (I've been playing for 20 plus years!)The tones are fantastic and sound REAL!. The recording feature is as easy as using a cassette deck. If you are into recording your personal tunes, get this baby and as an option, buy one of the BOSS digital recorders(I have the BOSS BR-1600). You will be making professional sounding recordings in no time! Roland did a great job with this honey! Buy it!
