If you are looking for a synthesizer, specifically a badass one, this is what you're seeking. The 100 Presets are awesome and fun to get you started out. Some are tasty enough that you'll just want to tweak them a little to make them your own, but each can be written over.

For the less knob-gifted, you can also download the 100 presets from the MOOG site, or even the 100 presets that come in the Stage Edition (which are different)

If you're in the market for a monophonic synth, here's your ticket. The awesome LEDs help too. Especially the pink ones.

This instrument is a direct descendant of the minimoog & can create almost all of the phat sounds heard on everything from the soaring sounds of ELP to the wormy/funky grooves found in modern day hip hop. This is a pure analog synthesizer with the same filters and oscillators as the minimoog voyager, minus one oscillator. I noticed the difference between this and my Nord Lead "virtual analog" right away in the liveliness of the sound, kind of like playing a guitar versus playing a sample of a guitar. This is the real deal & can be expanded into a modular synthesizer by adding analog components like the moogerfoogers & control processor. I've had this thing for 4 months and have barely scratched the surface of what it can do. The presets are good and are great launch pads for experimentation. The little phatty is extremely well built with very musical keys that respond well to the slightest movements. The pitch bend & mod wheel are fantastic as well. This is also one great looking synth. I was a little surprised by the overall rating & value other users have rated this at. I own 2 nords, a korg cx-3 and many soft synths & this is defintely the most unique and musical of them all, IF you know how to play it. A lot of people buying this expect something different from it than what it is meant to do. Monosynths are meant to be played both in the keys and the knobs and this excels at both. And at half the price of the Minimoog Voyager with most of the same features (sans one oscillator, a noise circuit & some modulation routing options) it is definitely a great deal.

I have received two units that have broken key weights rattling inside of them. Not a great Tribute to Bob Moog.
