The MIDI Solutions Velocity Converter applies selected velocity curves to incoming MIDI velocity data. Curves may be selected from 40 presets or a user defined curve. Each MIDI channel may be assigned a unique curve, allowing a MIDI controller's velocity sensitivity to be matched to individual sound modules in a MIDI setup. Velocities may also be assigned based on a selected incoming Control Change value. All settings are retained even after power is removed from the unit.

The velocity converter is programmed by sending it MIDI System Exclusive messages. Once programmed, its settings are retained even after power is removed.

The velocity converter is MIDI-powered and requires no batteries or power supply to operate. A MIDI indicator LED lights up when the product is powered and flashes when MIDI data passes through it.

I ordered this MIDI box because my Studiologic SL990XP did not have onboard velocity curve settings. I guess I didn't research this product enough because I though you could control the parameters from the box itself, like the old Anatek Pocket Curve from the 90s. Nope, you have to hook it up to your computer via a MIDI-to-USB cable and program the module every single time you want to change the curve setting. If you change your velocity settings often for different voices like me, this can become quite annoying. It's an OK device, I would not buy another one though.
