I have owned and played this 'board for quite some time now, and it has definitely served its purpose. First off, this thing is very sturdy. The body is definitely built like a tank. Unfortunately, the end pieces are plastic and make me a little wary. As far as the sounds go, most of them are very good. I enjoy the piano sound very much, but unfortunately they don't vary much. They all seem to sound the sound except for small changes in attack and EQ. Also, the organs are very disappointing. Other than that, most of the sounds are usable and are quite tweakable if you work through the interface (or lack thereof). Overall, I like this keyboard and hope to see Kurzweil come out with something that even tops this one.

I recently purchased a Kurzweil SP2X 88 key stage piano.
I have always been a fan of the Kurzweil piano samples and so have a bias toward their products. I purchased this board to have 88 weighted keys for playing in a jazz group with vocalist and the instrument is very good. It has a good feel, there is a set of 8 different piano sounds that are slightly different. There is an excellent Rhodes patch that is better than the actual Rhodes piano and much lighter. The only complaints that I have with this board is that a simple onboard sequencer would have been helpful.
Kurzweil strings are realistic (though I think Yamaha does a better job with string sounds.)
The price was quite reasonable and I would definitely recommend this board.

The SP2X has a solid feel and is built like a tank. The sounds are generally very good, starting with the grand piano, which is excellent. The electric pianos are also good. The other sounds are for the most part usable. Organs are weak.
My only criticism is the 1980 era LED display. Other Kurzweil models come with an LCD display that can display acutal letters and words. I don't know why they did that. It makes navigating the various menus a lot more difficult.
Overall, this is a great board for the money. I think it is very comparable to the Roland RD-700sx, but at half the price, it is a steal.
