An amazing workstation and performance tool. Somewhat expensive and difficult to learn but the effort is well worth it. The stock sounds are good but the KDFX unit (standard on all K2600s) will inspire and take you to places you've never been. Don't get me wrong, Tritons and Fantoms sound real good. But Kurzweils sound REAL. I'm not impressed with the electric guitar patches, but I've yet to hear any of these samples that I'm crazy about. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate your input. Amazing strings, so realistic you can hear the rosin scraping. I take four with me on the road - two 2500XSs and two 2600XSs, two that I use as backups (I've had some crashing issues and a good tech is very hard to find). I also take my old XP-80 and a Fantom. To get the most out of your K2600, read the manuals and ask questions. There aren't many shortcuts. I've met a few players who dis the Kurzes, but these people usually haven't scratched the surface on what these things are capable of. Triple Strike Piano is hands down - the best, no matter what style you play. Incredible dynamics. Amazing action and response. It took me months to finally get the organs down. With the KB3, onboard FX, pedals and my rotating speaker system, I finally go those classic "smokey" Hammond organs that no, not even the NORD can hold a candle to. It is not without issues but overall, this is an incredible piece of work. Worth every penny - even if you have to pay retail.

I've have the K2600XS with the daughterboard, Orchestral, Contemporary and Vintage Electric Piano boards and I Love them all. I use it as my master controller as well as every aspect of this keyboard as well as my other piece such as the Yamaha Motif ES Rack, Roland Fantom XRack, RMU Proteus 2000 to name a few and I love it. It is truly for the Real G's creating music.

I have been looking for a perfect keyboard for years. My friend owns an old old k2000 and there it all started. I hared it, I tried it and I fell in love. I bought myself k2600xs. Amazing sounds, amazing feel and action. Many of my friends say 48 voice polyphony is not enough. True unless you are using one of the Kurzweils with their phenomenal 'Voice Stealer' algorithm that works like a magic, re-using least hearable voices in the polyphony so you won't hear a missing note even doing some really crazy layering!
Fatar FA10 keyboard gives you amazingly realistic and smooth feel and V.A.S.T. algorithms, Triple modular processing and effect DSPs, all insainly flexible, gives you one of the most creative (and extremely complex too) sound laboratories ever created!
I just simply say: Try it (I mean not at the store for 5 minutes) or shut up (and listen carefully)!

Although the technology of this keyboard is a little older, it has great sounds and plays wonderfully! The weighted keys are as smooth as butter. You can't go wrong with a Kurzweil!

This technology is WAY too old to have a price tag this high. 12 MB of Wave ROM? Expandable to only 44? 48 voice polyphony? This is supposed to be something great? 8 year old technology at best. What good is a 32 track sequencer with only 48 note polyphony? I wouldn't even suggest this keyboard to my worst enemy.
