Front Nano Family Nanos With Mac Nanos With Windows

The nanoKEY is part of KORG's nanoSERIES USB-powered slimline controllers; so small you can put them on your workstation, in front of your laptop, on a recording console, or anywhere else you need versatile control over your DAW, virtual instrument, effect, or DJ software.

Despite its small size, the nanoKEY controller goes big when it comes to functionality. Its intuitive layout provides extremely easy operation for any user. The nanoKEY features a great-feeling, 25-key velocity-sensitive keyboard that's ideal for song production. The keys can also be set to send MIDI control data, further expanding its power.

A flexible MIDI keyboard controller that's smaller than a laptop keyboard
When KORG set out to build a slimline MIDI controller keyboard, they utilized their years of experience in manufacturing innovative MIDI keyboards to create a comfortable-feeling, velocity-sensitive keyboard based off a laptop keyboard. The resulting 25-note keyboard on the nanoKEY will transmit your playing dynamics to your software accurately and expressively. In CC (Control Change) MODE, the keys become MIDI controllers, allowing you to control any MIDI-assignable parameters within your software.

The Octave Shift function offers immediate access to the entire MIDI note range. Pitch and modulation buttons are also provided, giving your performances the kind of expression that you would expect from any controller regardless of its size.

With the "KORG KONTROL Editor" (downloadable free of charge from korg.com), you can customize the nanoKEY to match your control needs. It lets you select among 3 velocity curves or fixed velocity, and set MIDI CC values. It even allows you to edit the assignments for the minimum and maximum values of the control change messages transmitted by the modulation buttons or in CC MODE.

Even if the KORG nanoKEY controller is your first foray into MIDI control, be assured that you'll be able to get connected to software quickly. As an added value, the nanoKEY includes a download code for the full version of KORG's M1 LE that faithfully re-creates the legendary KORG M1 workstation. Plus, an upgrade path will let you graduate to the Legacy DIGITAL EDITION software suite, which has an even more expansive version of the M1, the renowned WaveStation, and 19 great MDEX effects. You also get a free downloadable Editor/Librarian to help you create setups to suit your specific control needs in all 3 models.

worked great in sonar 8 PE, does what is says. mod, pitch and octave keys are nice but keys are noisy and WILL fall off after repeated use. Useful for on the go type situations (for a while and then it will fall apart)

Overall it was a neat idea but key design is horrible and noisy and then the keys just start popping off left and right. I would consider this a kinda "disposable" midi controller.

If you are on a budget and think this will work for you as your main I would suggest keep looking and save your money, nothing to see here. I used this for toontrack easydrummer and some arturia moog modular v2 and feel I overwhelmed this little device. I now have the m-audio axiom 25 and I am very happy:) the oxygen from m-audio is nice too and closer to this price range.

dont buy this it is more or less a garbage product (mine is in the garbage can under the desk rite now with 6 keys missing)

Don't expect to get a Moog or a Nord, really, for the money this thing is fabulous, works flawlessly with Logic and GarageBand.

Next, all the features it has are very useful, only thing I would like is 2 buttons added to it, one for sustain, and one to turn the touch velocity off. it is super useful sometimes but, i would like it off for some applications...and some sustain would be nice.

Everything it does is great, I fly and go on the road a lot and its perfect for both of those. Even in my room just making demos, for the real thing I will use a Nord or Moog, but this thing can give you a good sound for your demos, IT LOOKS AMAZIng, (I have the black one, inverted colors) and it looks amazing with the new mac book. fits right in. Anothing has broken for me and I haven been using it for about a month NON-Stop with GB and Logic 8. works amazingly.

ALso, the other day I used it at a live show, in Abelton Live, to make some loops and sounds and it workd awesomely, loops and stuff really add to an all acoustic show.. this thing was a savior.

All in all this thing is amazing. Remember, not gunna be Micro Korg, just a nono korg, BUY IT! it is worth it, just dont be (too) rough with it and it will last for you. really. I recommend.

Not can be much to added to what has been said. It's cheap plastic, and feels very awkward, even more so than a normal computer keyboard. The only plus is it's portability, but if you're that pressed for space, it's easier just to use qwerty.

I'd recommend to spend a little more money on an M-Audio KeyRig 25 if you are looking for a good portable midi keyboard.

I bought this hoping for a more space efficient means of getting my ideas out rather than yanking out my big keyboard but within 15 minutes of using it the keys started to pop off. There is no getting them back on. Is this some sort of a joke?
