This musical instrument does what has never been done before - offering you the classic "tone-wheel" sound by utilizing 96-digital tone wheels. This Vase III sound generator now makes it possible to reproduce all of the characteristics of the vintage Hammond B-3. Additionally, the Hammond XK-3 houses two internal vacuum tubes that will change continuously from pre-amp mode to overdrive mode via control knob. The Hammond XK-3 organ also includes 12 reverse color key presets, 3 sets of drawbars, a 2-rotor digital Leslie, and a 6 -position rotary VIBRATO/CHORUS KNOB, all the features you would expect to find on a Hammond Vintage B-3.

This clonewheel organ is fantastic! Very, very authentic to the Hammond B3. The Leslie simulation is great enough to use in the studio without compromise what so ever. Tweakable Functions: You can choose Leslie amp models, equalizer, overdrive, spin up and spin down time for each individual rotor, brake time, Leslie speeds for each rotor, cabinet models, mic angles and distance, rotor sizes, individual rotor volumes, vibrato frequency and chorus frequency, selectable reverb types going post or pre-leslie, and custom tonewheels including Farfisa and Hammond X5! You can assign functions to the modulation wheel as well. For example: Tonewheel Generator speed, amp power on or off, Leslie speed, or adjust the bend of the note if desired. It contains two tubes type 12AX7 and 12AU7 which can be assigned to work in any order together or you can choose to use just one for different types of overdrive! Unlimited polyphony, and 61 vintage style waterfall keys with velocity. The XK1 and the XK3 use the same sound engine (V.A.S.E III) as the New B3. The velocity exists when you have it functioning as a Midi controller. Works great as a Midi Controller as well! FYI the reverse color keys do not send Midi note data. It also facilitates an 11 pin Leslie connection for using the real thing! I could not be happier with this purchase.

This is it. The XK3c is the best emulation of the classic B3/Leslie combo ever. I know - I've owned almost all of them from the original through multiple brands of clones through the first XK-1 to this. None have the warmth and feel of the XK3c. None had real tubes, none had individual control over the tonewheels and pretty much every other feature, none had the MIDI controller features, none simply compared. The XK3c also has that hard to define character we sometimes refer to as "balls". The growl is controllable, the Leslie effect is the best there is, and the feel of the action is there too. There's a sense of pride taking this on stage and letting loose with the most famous classic keyboard sound in all of rock history. The XK3c is not cheap but it comes with no excuses and no compromises. If your chops are good enough and you want some respect, step up.
