Giant step backwards

Roland/Edirol had some great products SC55, SC880, M-GS64 and SC8850. These all sounded great and while some of the interfaces were a little counter-intuitive, general midi was rich and full. Enter the SD20. This module is hard to navigate, and sounds harsh and brittle. Guitars and organs are probably the biggest offenders. In the past I've recorded some awesome tracks on GM modules, but this ain't one of them. Too bad this is the last of Roland SC modules, I would have thought they could have done a lot better. Although not a great GM module, you're better off with a 2020.

I own it and use it as my back up only. The SD 80 is much nicer, really quality sounds from the SD80. I'm a musician down In Key West Fl. and use my Edirol SD80, and Cakewalk 9.0, for great sounds and composing, Bobby, The Singing MailMan.

This synth is a horrible pos. The sounds are laughable. Doesn't handle pitch bend, stutters. Flimsy build quality!
