The Edirol PCR-M80 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller offers direct connection to your computer through USB, 61 keys, 27 assignable MIDI controllers, MIDI I/O, and both sustain and expression pedal connections. The keyboard controller also includes a software editor. It adds features like velocity curves, a switchable MIDI interface, V-LINK, and key action from Roland's higher-end synths. The assignable control array includes 8 knobs, 8 sliders, 9 switches, and 2 pedal ports.

The key action has been refined to produce even less mechanical noise than its predecessor and offers a consistent, playable feel. The keys themselves are slightly more rounded to keep your fingers from tripping over the keys during quick glissandi. This Edirol keyboard's Pitchbend/Modulation has a rubber coating for easier grip.

Nice features, horrible resolution

I was very dissapointed in the resolution of the faders and knobs. They just aren't useful for riding vocals or mixing in your daw live. A slight adjustment results in huge leaps and the knobs, when middled out, all set my pan settings in Cubase SX3 to >R(ight)1. This is all very frustrating and renders it useless as a virtual mixing controller. As for the key action, if you are an experienced synth player, I have a feeling you might be dissapointed in the feel of the keys. I don't know, they just feel kinda cheap. As for sheer customizability, hands down this is a great unit. I can assign the controls to anything I want in Cubase, and that is pretty useful.

Recieved My Edirol M80 controller the other day, and since then I can't leave it alone. I haven't mastered all the controls yet, but the keyboard is a joy to play on. It's just as advertised. Thumbs up!!
