Not a Bad Controller but Could be More

It has pretty much all you'll expect with a basic midi controller. I love the silky smooth faders and knobs. The biggest thing that annoys me is the mod wheel, which only goes up and bounces back down when you release it, making it like a one way pitch bend kinda thing that doesn't stay like the other mod wheels i've used. Otherwise it's an easy piece of gear to get and is usually a stable one. Thought they could make the keys less shiny plastic like and give them a little more weight.

The price for this model made me worry about the quality but i bought it anyway. this thing i fantastic, it's of good build (i know because it's been kicked around quite a bit and it still has all its keys). i use Reason to make music and the keyboard is completely compatible. my only beef with it is that i realize now that i should've gotten the 49-key version. i suggest saving the extra money, wait a little longer, and get the 49-key version.

Using With CUBASE VST/32

An amazing collection of controls and keys in one package. I use it for playing SampleTank 2XL, D'Cota, Model-E, and Groove Agent. When I have my tracks laid down, I can then use the contols to blend up to 16 channels in the VST Mixer - with "solo" & "mute". Not only that, I can contol the transport function too. WHEW! Roland has a real winner here - a project studio must have item.

Has more features than the Oxygen, and not that much more expensive. Easy to setup, and has online templates for mapping to LIVE, Reason and others.

It has an awesome solid feel. It's a decent size (bigger than the small M-Audio controllers) and the knobs and faders work great. The pcr-editor is also a great implemation. You definitely get your moneys worth, if not much more!
