i absolutely love this unit

i did my homework before buying this unit. i read many reviews and specs for all the wireless midi units i know of, that being, alesis's midair, kentons wirless midi unit and midiworks' midijet, and i must say for the value cme's widi is a bang for the buck. this is the only unit that incorporates 2 way communication and its half as much as the other units (except for the midiair system which does not have favorable reviews. Ive only been using it for a week but it has been very reliable in this time. very good range minimum to zero latency. sturdy yet compact and easy to use. this system comes with 2 units capable of transmitting and receiving midi messages. the battery life has been good thus far have not had to replace the 2 AA batteries yet!

I play the EWI4000s and I connect all my midi gear to an old DMC MX-8 midi patchbay. I use the VL70m & XV2020 sound modules. I tried the MidAir and it just didnt perform and is unreliable. I switched to the WIDI X8 and it worked instantly. Wow what a great product (and over 230 feet)!!!!

If you are looking for an adapter to to Radio Shack and get the 4.5V adapter.

I could not find a case but adapted a PDA case for it, get you some velco too - look great.
