I figure anything this portable involves some compromises... I bought this so I could compose on the road, so I'll accept some compromise. I almost bought the Oxygen w/XLR, but learned of it's design flaws. Also this keyboard is way less bulky than other 25-key boards (it it flatter.) Now as for the "key feel" which is so important to people who learn on real pianos etc., this DOES NOT HAVE IT. The compromise for all this compactness is that the key travel is really short, like 1/4". The velocity sensitivity is there, but you MUST tailor the velocity curve of the board and software to get to a sweet spot. The other controls, pitch mod etc., are all really smooth, full featured, rubberized and nice. The headset mic quality is odd, but OK for getting ideas down. The USB line in/out can be quite good, but out is noisy (faint beeps and hums) on some computers. Comes with cool gig bag. If the USB noise issue was fixed and it had XLR input with phantom power, I would rave about it.

This board looked great from its specs: built in audio, mic input, gig bag, mod and pitch wheel, headphones, programmable expression jack and wheels. But the keys are crap. They work intermittently and are very inconsistent. Not sure why this is so bad as it is exactly like my M-Audio 02. Really disappointed in the quality because it's a well thought out portable. Now I have to return it, pay for shipping both ways. I will seriously think twice the next time I order anything like this online without having tried it first.
