I thought this unit would be perfect for me to play solo pub gigs....plugged in my shure sm58,and it sounded great with the killer effects. BUT! when I plugged in my takamine ean15....I had to put it on 10 to match the volume of the mike. then it started to clip. very dissapointed.

This thing is like the hulk of small amps. It is sooo heavy. I used it as a PA for my open mic and it worked ok until it blew (quite easily if I might add.) So I get it replaced. The new one starts buzzing then every time you turn it on. I got that "fixed" but the insane buzzing didn't stop. I ended up purchasing a Yamaha 300 PA and am so much more happy.

In conclusion, to not buy if you are a traveling musician. For the home it is ok I guess.

Falls Short on Wattage

I purchased the K1800FX as a "step-up" (I thought) from my Behringer KX1200. Wrong. I'm not sure if it's the smaller speaker (12" for the K1800 vs 15" for the KX1200)or an optimistic wattage rating, but this amp doesn't put out nearly the sound of the "smaller" KX1200. I took this amp on a few gigs and it had very little stage presence in a loud stage setting (6-piece Motown band). However, the effects are many and varied. Lots of good stuff here for your every need. And, of course, there's the XLR input as well as the XLR out if you send a mixed signal to the main board of your PA. I own several Behringer units and have had good experience with all of them. This one was just too weak for my application. Musician's Friend took it back with no questions asked and credited my card. Very good customer service.

The amp has an amazing sound, its really loud, good useful effects, and plenty of room. However about 2 months after purchasing it it broken and they sent me a new one, however after about two months that amp broke the same exact way. Don't buy it.
