This synth actually amazed me. I was really suprised about the effects and all the program selections. I recommend this keyboard to all starting bands with a tight budget. This was a good investment.

I bought this board used, the sounds are above average. the pianos are clean, the organs and strings are impressive and the basses are phat. Overall I like the sounds alot some of them are sampled from yamahas more expensive models. the only sour note is the feel of the keys they feel cheep and fragile for a pro board. I would definatly recomend it. sounds are fantastic.

I was shocked to hear the programs in this synth. They are very professional-sounding. The string parts (the reason I bought a new synth) are full and ballsy. The synth parts are fresh and original. I had my presumptions that this was going to be a somewhat limited synth. NOPE. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the programs (even though they are based on samples) are beautiful and dynamic... And I am only talking about the preloaded sounds. Its an extremely musical piece of equipment. Full MIDI control, and a PC card slot for uploading Alesis brand cards with Alesis samples OR your own cards with original samples. You can also layer 16 programs into a sound mix. SIXTEEN SOUNDS AT ONCE. Thats some fat synth man.... I believe that for this price, it is the best synth to purchase out there. It's an excellent performance board too. I don't think that those demo songs do this thing justice. I am going to be using this for a long time.

I use this all the time with my sequencer and it is a powerhouse. When you record direct, the sounds are clean...perfect for jazz and R&B work. The "snares" could be better but aside from that...no complaints.

This band asked me to play synth for them since in my former band i played guitar and i'd play on the other band members microKORG, i said sure and i went out looking for synths, this one was way beyond what i was expecting to get, everything is so easy to access, you want piano sounds, press piano, you want synth, press synth, you want drums, press drums, there's so many sounds, i'm still having trouble editing them since i'm new to the whole keyboard thing but the manuel helped out tons, i bought it for cheap since it was the demo one the store had out, works just like any other would, i love it.
