Best budget pad controller

It took a LOT of time to find the right pad controller for me. It was mostly between the Pad Kontrol and the Trigger Finger, until I saw this. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to for this

Controls- The Pad Kontrol has 2 knobs, this has 8. The Trigger Finger has 4 sliders (that are a little tricky to use) and 8 knobs, this has 6 really nice sliders, and 8 super smooth knobs. All the faders and knobs level is displayed on the LCD screen, which has lots of info on it, and is really easy to read (adjustable even).

The 4 'banks' are great, it cycles though the octaves on your midi instruments, or samples.

the pads- Akai invented the MPC... these pads rule. Adjustable sensitivity is nice, in various 'curves'. They're pretty solid, but don't bother my fingers after lots of use. They're still squishy enough.

Ease of use- I plugged it in, and it worked. It was easier to use then I expected it to be. Programing the faders and knobs is also simple (I'm using Logic)

I still haven't really explored everything it can do, but it's awesome. It's the best pad system for under $250.

This is an outrageously great controller. Very easy to set up and get started, the pads have great response, plus all the knobs and sliders you'll ever need. I've used mine almost everyday for 6 months how, and it stills works as well as I did when I got it out the box. I don't think I found any complaints about this device. Akai yet again made a gem with this piece of equipment. right here.

I love my MPD24. I bought it with no prior midi experience after considering the MPK49 and MPD32, plugged it into my computer with Reason 4.0, and after 5 minutes of setup the thing worked perfectly. Great, responsive pads (although you have to get used to hitting them pretty hard) give this thing a great feel. Its bigger than it looks online, and it's built like a tank which I love. I use it to make hip-hop and electronica beats, and it will handle anything you throw at it. Basically just a very well built, extremely useful, and easy to use piece of machinery. Get one.

I love this peace of equipment. I cheap afrordable and its worth the cost. It works just like any other midi/mpc controller but I has better features and more improvements than the m audio trigger finger.
